Final Reflection

Cultural Assimilation- the process by which a person or group's language and/or culture come to resemble those of another group.

A reason I had chosen this topic for my project is that, I myself and many of my family members have experienced cultural assimilation in one form or another. I'd got the idea to this type of project because lately in the news for the past couple of years, there had been stories about cultural appropriation. This particular idea began to grow on me because Cultural Assimilation and Cultural Appropriation are very similar topics.

What I believe a success of my project is that it's a unique topic to write about and that I have experience with a topic like this one. A challenge of having a unique topic such has Cultural Assimilation, is that it there aren't many sources on this sort of topic. When beginning this project I had gone to several websites, that I believe may help me, but it didn't help at all.

In the beginning of my project, I had not been sure if this is the right topic to have chosen because in the beginning I had been confused about what this project was exactly about. What had helped me understand this project a lot more is the help Mrs.Walker provided when explaining how we should start the process. Overall, I may have only adjusted the project a few times to meet the requirements to have a completed project.

One important thing I learned through out this project alone is that, when completing a project as big as this is that you need to be patient and ask questions when confused about what exactly you have to do. Another thing I found out about doing a project such as this is that, many other cultures have also experienced Cultural Assimilation. I have learned this through many of the websites I scoured when trying to find evidence on this topic.
