5 Questions about my blog

1. Why is this topic relevant?

2. Who benefits from this?

3. Why create a blog centered around this subject?

4. What are examples of cultural assimilation in other native tribes

5. Why should we care about this subject?

1. This is a topic that’s relevant to many people who are interested in this type of subject and those who have Native American ancestry who want to learn more.

2 People who will benefit from this are the ones who learn

3. I created a blog centered around this subject because it affects me and my cultural heritage. Another reason I created a blog centered this subject is that for my Senior project for my English 12 class.

4. Another example of similar tribes going through this are of Chumash Tribe in Southern California. The Chumash had lived in the area of San Diego and had first encountered the Spanish in 1769. Father Junipero Serra leader of a Catholic Church missionary had encountered the Chumash and wrote in his Diary “Believe me, when I saw their general behavior, their pleasing ways and engaging manners, my heart was broken to think that they were still deprived of the light of the Holy Gospel." And a few years later he had begun to make the native populations in to slaves and if they had disobeyed the natives would be branded, mutilated, or possibly punished to death.

5. We should care about this subject because people know that Native Americans were slaughtered and that their history was destroyed and that’s what many people know but they don’t think about what happened after and how it affects modern Native Americans now.
